Parasiteert larve van Celastrina argiolus (Argus à bande noire - Boomblauwtje) - Lycaenidae.
« The population dynamics of the holly blue are closely linked with those of its host
specific parasite, the ichneumonid wasp Listrodromus nycthemerus which lays its
eggs in first instar holly blue larvae. This results in the emergence of a single adult
wasp from the normally formed holly blue pupa. Parasitism of larvae can reach 99%, causing a massive collapse in holly blue populations. It can take several years for host numbers to build up (a 6-7 year cycle has been observed).» (WESTMINSTER BIODIVERSIY PARTNERSHIP)
